Updated “The Boneyard Rules” added to the classes, particularly the priest. Priests have always been avoided in my games (mostly) and I am not sure if it was the sticky religion issues or that no one thought they were cool. Hopefully the abilities I gave them make them feel like 1) Priests and 2) bad asses.

Anyway, There are other classes out there but I feel that all of the others are sub-divisions of the main four. The distinguishing characteristics would be their skills. A Ranger is a fighting sort of chappy so he would be made using Warrior and taking a outdoors background or current woodland skills.

Theoretical Retro Clone has a new name.

My  previously named TRC is now called Boneyard Rules. The current version is up,  You can check it out on the freebies page. please let me know what you think of it. This is a fun little work in progress that should be playable at this stage, Save Rolls aren’t finished yet and the file contains no monsters or spells (you need an AD&D book to use it at the moment).

Future updates will be forthcoming.

New Page

I added a new section for any useful free stuff I come up with, called freebies (whooooeeee, original there). On it right now is a complete alternate fantasy system that I had posted awhile ago as an experiment. I put it back up so anyone who missed it the first time can grab it and look at it at their leisure.

I eventually will add the basic retro clone I am playing with, as well as anything that I polish up. If you like and want to donate….hit the paypal button and send me some green.

Also I think I may go into reviewing games and game related media more frequently, If you like that idea…hit that paypal button (in the words of TLC “I ain’t too proud to beg”)

So…just that. keep them doggies rollin’

Retro-clone compiled

I have taken all my posts on my theoretical AD&D retro clone and compiled them into a Google doc. I did this with the thought of polishing and expanding it a bit, then posting it on here. No idea of a cool setting or name for it though.

The lack of a setting idea may seem weird given the collection I have of them on this site, but I would want something special, a little unique for this project.

The name should be something that screams my style of fantasy at me, I am just having trouble talking to my brain about creative things still.

New TRC thought

In addition to my earlier ramblings about what I would do to AD&D 2E, I had another thought. I would take the attribute rolling method from Palladium, rolling different numbers of D6 for attributes for different races. For example, Elves would roll 3D6 for intelligence but 4D6 for Dexterity, or something similar.
